Hailey Hosford Boca Raton FL Obituary – The Sunrise community was shaken after a violent double stabbing incident occurred early Wednesday morning at The Retreat at Sawgrass Village, leading to the arrest of 21-year-old Jackson Julian Sagesse, Jr. The suspect, who was taken into custody shortly after the attack, refused to appear in bond court the following day, raising further concerns and questions about the case’s details and motives.
According to police reports, the incident unfolded around 1:42 a.m. when a victim called 911 reporting that he had been stabbed in the neck at the apartment complex located at 3000 NW 130th Ave. Responding officers quickly located the injured man outside the complex, where he was found with a puncture wound to his throat. Despite his injuries, the victim was conscious and able to communicate with authorities, providing a description of his attacker as a heavy-set Black male with an afro.
The victim explained that the stabbing occurred in the parking garage of the apartment complex and that the suspect fled the scene on foot. As police conducted their investigation, they learned that a second victim—a female—had also been stabbed and was still inside the victim’s vehicle, a black Mercedes-Benz parked in the garage. Upon approach, officers found the woman unresponsive on the backseat floorboard, with multiple visible stab wounds to her neck and throat.
Police also discovered a set of steak knives in the vehicle, with one knife found on the front passenger seat, which investigators believe was used in the attack. The woman, identified as 28-year-old Hailey Hosford of Boca Raton, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her tragic death marked the culmination of a violent assault that shocked the community.
Shortly after the attack, law enforcement officials apprehended Sagesse nearby. During the arrest, officers found a steak knife in his front right pocket, consistent with the weapon used in the crime. Sagesse provided a confession to detectives; however, his full statement was redacted from publicly released documents, leaving many questions unanswered regarding his motives or potential accomplices.
As of Thursday afternoon, Sagesse was held without bond at Broward Main Jail. He faces serious charges of murder and attempted murder, reflecting the gravity of the crime. The community remains in shock over the brutality of the attack, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The case has drawn attention to issues of violence in residential communities and highlights the importance of safety and vigilance. While the investigation is ongoing, residents are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity. The Sunrise Police Department has assured the public that they are committed to uncovering the full story behind this tragic event and bringing justice for the victims.
